Two amazing single line drawings by British artist Frederick Leslie Kenett (1924-2012).
A slightly overlooked artist who is probably best known as a photographer (particularly of sculpture) and as a sculptor in his own right.
Kenett was a good friend of Henry Moore and travelled through France and the Netherlands with him.
He taught Moore photography and in return Moore appears to have at least advised and explained sculpture to Kenett.
I think Moore’s influence is apparent in Kenett’s work.
These two drawings may well be ideas for sculptures or simply exercises in single line drawings.
They are certainly very immediate and fluid, showing Kenett’s considerable skill.
Each is initialled FLK ‘65 for 1965.
The paper is a little wrinkled, it’s possibly cheap, thin paper that Kenett might have used to work out ideas.
There are a few marks here and there.
The two drawings might benefit from reframing. That could easily be done.
The frame size of each is approximately 56cm x 46cm.
I’d prefer to sell them as a pair, as they sit so well together, but still happy to sell separately.
£235 each or
£395 for the pair.
